Architecture is really my first love.

When it comes to photography, at least.

I grew up on construction sites.

I studied drafting in high school and designed recording studios for 20 years.

So lines and light are primary influences in my work.

I love skylines and cityscapes.  Lucky for me, I live in Dallas Texas, which has the preeminent skyline and I have been capturing various versions of it for over 2 decades.

In 2013, I was contracted to produce a backdrop for a local TV station morning show.  They wanted a combination of Dallas and Fort Worth with a sunrise sky. This was a very large project in every sense of the term. And this was my biggest image until 2017.  We were in Taiwan when I received a phone call from Atlanta Georgia.  It was Delta Air Lines. The representative I spoke with had seen the TV station backdrop and wanted something very similar for their DFW Call Center.  But it needed to be six feet high and twenty-six feet wide.  This was an entirely different ratio than the TV station project. We were doing a large festival art show at the time, and after closing time the first night I went out to Dallas and re-shot a number of elements of the skyline for this project.  The next night after the art show I did the same thing in Fort Worth.  This was the easy part.  The final image would take a full twenty hours of editing to assemble.  I rendered the image file to their exact specifications and delivered it via my large file delivery account to Delta’s imaging wizards in Atlanta.  I arranged to come down and sign the wall when it was installed.  This was January of 2018.  My wife came with me for this event.  No one had seen the mural yet.  It was draped in black plastic after the imaging people installed it.  So none of us had seen the final product until this event.  The entire call center had recently been renovated and this was the grand opening.  What I didn’t know is I was the guest of honor and a speech was expected of me.  OK then…

We reproduce this mural in a single image or triptych in 6 foot and 12 foot versions.  If you’re interested, send me a message.

This goes for every other image you see in this gallery.
