Day 3 (Wednesday) – PCU

Now PCU is a  LOT more fun.  Lots of great nurses & techs.

Today is a LOT better.  My pain is consistently a 3-4, more often a 3.  Even getting up for PT is a lot more comfortable.  Everything is easier today.  I still need help from the PT techs, but with my shoulder, that’s to be expected.

Went for my first “real” walk – with a walker and went 100 feet at a steady clip without interruption. Everyone seemed So impressed.

A few hours later I did a 150 foot version of the same walk.  All the nurses / techs say I’m So easy to work with  – a “rock-star” is their term.  Apparently doing what you’re told, not complaining and having a positive attitude is a big deal.  Who knew?  Anyway, we have a mutual admiration society going here, As I love these women who’ve dedicated their careers to the healing of others.  What an amazing crew.

Thanks so much for your kind words. I am feeline much better already and will be going home (no rehab) Yay Either tomorrow or Monday. If it weren’t for how hideously uncomfortable Baylor’s beds are. I’d want to stay longer. Now I think tomorrow sounds pretty good.
