The newest arrival in McKinney’s square is Munzee Marketplace. For those of you not familiar with Munzee, it’s a tak-eoff on geocaching that has exploded into an online game with Munzees (QR codes) deployed on every continent. Billed as a “21st century scavenger hunt, the concept has really taken off in the last couple of years.
In the process of expanding their offices in McKinney, they elected to put in a retail store for their products (QR codes, shirts, merchandise galore. While planning their retail store, a decision was made to fill a gap in the services available in downtown McKinney and the store concept evolved into a fully functional convenience store.
Along with the usual assortment of snacks, medications and Texas-made items like salsa, they are including local art.
In addition to my book, Texas As I See It, they have a nice selection of McKinney / Texas-centric note cards as well. Just this week they finished installing three pieces of my limited edition art.
